“blogging?” (April 4, 2011)

Back in 2011, I started a Tumblr blog- the original “The Important Things.” Here is my first ever post, “blogging?” from April 4, 2011. It’s funny to see how much has changed, and how much hasn’t 🙂

blogging?

so i’m adding my first post… it took me a while to finally sign up for a tumblr account (probably the simplest signup i’ve ever done, actually) because i wasn’t sure exactly what i’d write. i still don’t really know exactly what i plan on writing, but i decided to call it “the important things” because that’s basically what i see myself writing/posting about… the things that are on my mind all day that matter to me (and probably only me!). i also want to be able to share my pictures because uploading them all to facebook simply isn’t enough anymore! 🙂 i’m not a good writer or anything like that, and i don’t know yet who i plan on sharing this blog with… but i like documenting things and looking back…maybe it will be for me! we shall see. anyway, i’m still figuring out the setup and things like that, but i’m excited to have another place to share all my random (sometimes a little crazy) thoughts…

 9 years, 1 month, 17 days later…

Not much has changed, except maybe a Bachelor’s degree in English and some confidence. I’m still not exactly sure what I intend to share on this blog, and if anyone other than my Mom will read it. But what I do know is that it makes me happy, so I’m doing it. As I said in the post, I also love to look back. I have boxes and boxes of diaries and memories under my bed at my parents’ house that I look back on often (and won’t let them throw away). It can be a bit sad sometimes remembering some of the things I went through at such a young age, but for me, they’re all just memories. And memories are important.

Either way, it’s nice to look back on the things that made us who we are today- good and bad.

Keep checking back for more Reminiscences from the original The Important Things!
